EICR Certificate

An EICR is an Electrical Installation Condition Report, a full inspection and test of the fixed wiring installation within a property or premises.

What are the outcomes of an EICR?

An EICR can either be Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory depending on the findings of the inspection and testing. The results of the findings are coded using a series of codes, C1, C2, C3 and FI.

C1 = Immediate danger present

C2 = Potentially Dangerous

C3 = Improvement is recommended

FI = Further Investigation is required

What if the EICR is Unsatisfactory?

If the report contains C1, C2 or FI’s, it will be listed as ‘Unsatisfactory’. Following an unsatisfactory EICR, we will outline and explain clearly all of the issues found, why they are coded the way they are and what the repercussions of the issues could be. We also supply a quote for Atkinson-Cross to rectify the issues found. There is no retest fee if you use Atkinson-Cross to carry out these works.

What if the EICR is Satisfactory?

If the EICR is satisfactory, no further action is needed. If there are C3’s on the report, we will explain them, explain why it is still satisfactory and why the improvement is recommended.
